An update on the power situation in areas affected by typhoon Glenda has been released at 5:00 am yesterday, July 18, by the Department of Energy, in conjunction with the National Grid Corporation, Meralco, and electric cooperatives.

As of yesterday power supply has been supplied to the below areas:

  • Metro Manila: 88.4%
  • Batangas: 34.89%
  • Bulacan: 91.16%
  • Cavite: 47.25%
  • Laguna: 51.13%
  • Pampanga: 100%
  • Rizal: 60%
  • Quezon: 1%

The following transmission lines and facilities that are affected by typhoon Glenda:

  1. FACILITY: Bay – Los Baños 69-kV Line [Customer Affected: ERDB/FPRDI & UPLB]
  2. FACILITY: Naga – Libmanan 69-kV Line [Customer Affected: CASURECO I]
  3. FACILITY: Naga – Lagonoy 69-kV Line [Customer Affected: CASURECO II, CASURECO IV, Partido Rice Mill]
  4. FACILITY: Naga – Iriga 69-kV Line [Customer Affected: CASURECO III]
  5. FACILITY: Gumaca – Atimonan 69-kV Line [Customer Affected: QUEZELCO I]
  6. FACILITY: Gumaca – Pitogo – Mulanay 69-kV Line [Customer Affected: QUEZELCO I]
  7. FACILITY: Gumaca – Gumaca 69-kV Line [Customer Affected: QUEZELCO I]

DSWD, or the Department of Social Welfare and Development assures that it will continue to provide assistance to those affected by Typhoon Rammasun or Typhoon Glenda. As of July 18, a total of 135,508 food packs, 1,924,405 assorted food items and 541,185 non-food items have been distributed by DSWD to families in the affected regions.

DOLE secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz said “to alleviate the plight of employees in times of crisis, employers may provide such extra incentives of benefits to employees who reported for work” after she issued a labor advisory on the payment of wages for private sector employees due to inclement weather or force majeure (French for superior or irresistible force).

 

Death toll has now reached 77 with 220 injured and 5 missing. 5 provinces, 1 city and 3 municipalities in 4 regions were declared under state of calamity:

  1. Region III – Obando, Bulacan
  2. Region IV-A – Cavite
  3. Region IV-A – Laguna
  4. Region V – Albay
  5. Region V – Camarines Sur
  6. Region V – Tigaon, Camarines Sur
  7. Region V – Bula, Camarines Sur
  8. Region V – Naga city
  9. Region VIII – Samar
